Last week, a number of our members were recognized by state and global enterprises for their innovation and success.
Advisors Craig Findley and Ken Wise recognized that to provide the advice and guidance that clients need to achieve financial success, the old ways of doing business would no longer work. That’s why in 2003, they created Findley Wise Wealth Management. Their mission was clear—to build a practice based on three distinct principles—innovative thinking, specialized expertise and superior customer service. Today, through trusted relationships with high net worth individuals, large corporate institutions and small- and mid-sized businesses, the Findley Wise vision is being recognized nationwide.

Ohio is having a sales tax holiday this weekend beginning Friday, August 4, 2017 at 12:00 a.m. and ending Sunday, August 6, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. This means that an item of clothing priced at $75 or less, schools supplies priced at $20 or less per item or an item of school instructional material priced at $20 or less will all be exempt from sales and use tax.
Get prepped for the upcoming school year and support local businesses as you enjoy a tax free weekend. Franklin Park Mall has been a member of the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce for nearly 50 years and they are looking forward to a successful weekend.

Working with small businesses since the recovery from the last recession I have noticed a disturbing trend. A number of small businesses have come to me seeking assistance that have made some serious mistakes that are really hard to overcome. One of the issues I see a lot is past due taxes. Both federal and State income tax and local property taxes. Business owners are surprised and disappointed to learn the banks and credit unions have little or no interest in loaning money to an individual that owes these back taxes. Think about it: If the business owner was unable to pay a tax liability, what makes the business owner think someone else will take the risk of not getting paid back?
