Technical Assistance Center (PTAC)
The Northern
Ohio Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) at the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce is part of a statewide network of
counseling offices offering their help to small and medium-sized
businesses interested in marketing their products and services to
federal, state, and local government agencies for no cost.
Housed in the
Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Business Development Services
Department, PTAC can offer help in every aspect of the government
contracting process.
Doing business
with the Federal Government offers an enormous potential for small
businesses seeking to expand their markets and increase their
profits. The Federal Government is a multi-billion dollar procurer
of various products and services. However, only a small percentage
of the U. S. businesses are sharing in this huge market, and those
who are, seem to be getting less than their fair share. The Federal
Government is encouraging more competition and therefore more U. S.
businesses to take part in this multi-billion dollar market place
that provides those products and services necessary to support this
huge customer.
Selling to the
government can be a profitable venture. Each year the federal
government purchases more than $200 billon worth of goods and
services. State and municipal governments spend an additional $20+
billion. The Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) can
guide you through the government procurement process and provide you
with information on how to become more competitive in the government
marketplace. The Federal Government has special set asides for
small and disadvantaged businesses, and the PTAC office can assist
businesses with accessing these contracts.
