The Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce launched LEAD, a private
sector driven five-year economic development plan for the region
with the goal to raise between $8-9 million over five years to fund
the Regional Growth Partnership. LEAD stands for Leadership for
Economic Advancement & Development and has three themes - Create.
Contribute. Compete. The LEAD Campaign successfully ended in
early 2006, with a total of $9.2 million dollars committed to the
campaign.
The five-year program creates a system to increase development
activity providing jobs for our citizens and increased investment
for our governmental infrastructure. It is a program where the
private sector will contribute time, ideas, involvement and
resources to enable the program to succeed. And, we will
successfully compete with other locations to win in the attraction
arena and retain job providers already here in our region.
