The Leadership Fund is a voluntary, unincorporated political action committee sponsored by the Chamber. It is independent of any political party, candidate campaign committee, ballot issue committee, political campaign fund or state candidate fund.
The mission of The Leadership Fund is to encourage, support and promote good government and to address the legislative concerns of the Northwest Ohio business community. To accomplish this, The Leadership Fund recruits, trains and endorses candidates who support the business community. The committee serves as an educational forum designed to provide more information about serving the public office.
The Leadership Fund sponsors the Leadership Academy annually to promote good leaders and good government. This 10-week course outlines the basic issues, requirements, expectations and practices associated with various types of public service in Northwest Ohio. The program is designed to be a beneficial guide for a wide variety of individuals including: current public officials; private citizens considering running for public office; individuals appointed to various boards, committees and commissions
or anyone employed in a position that requires interaction with elected officials. The next Leadership Academy, which will be the 11th class, will start in early 2012.
