Designed to serve as a catalyst to advance workplace wellness among the members of the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce, WellBiz is an
exciting new partnership between the Hospital Council’s Lucas County
Healthy Communities Foundation, The Toledo Regional Chamber of

Commerce and Harris HealthTrends.

What is Workplace Wellness?

  • Workplace wellness is a focus on health promotion at the worksite.
  • Helps employees improve their health and reduce their health risks through healthy lifestyle changes.
  • Successful workplace wellness programs reduce health care costs, while improving individual health and productivity.

A workplace wellness program includes a promotional campaign, baseline health assessment and targeted interventions via the Internet, phone, or in person.

WellBiz is a pilot project that will work with companies over a three year period to initiate wellness in the workplace. Several Chamber member companies applied and five companies were chosen. The winners for participation in the three year demonstration program are:

  • Bollin Label Systems;

  • Brooks Insurance Agency, Inc.;

  • Fifth Third Bank;

  • Roemer Insurance and Benefits;

  • Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP.

Participant at Roemer Insurance receives initial testing.

Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick held initial participant screenings in October.
