On September 25th, Wendy Gramza, President and CEO of the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce, became the proud signer of the latest bun to be added to Tony Packo’s legendary collection. This special honor comes as Gramza celebrates her invitation to the prestigious U.S. Chamber of Commerce Committee of 100 (CCC100). CCC100 members are a select group of chamber executives who provide leadership, insight, and advice on critical policy matters and emerging issues that connect chambers and their members across the nation. As the global economy evolves, industries across the board are experiencing rapid technological advancements. Nowhere is this more evident than in the world of manufacturing and engineering. Once perceived as labor-intensive and low-tech, today’s manufacturing environment is a hub of innovation, automation, and high-tech processes. Yet, despite these advancements, a common misconception persists—that manufacturing jobs are outdated or unappealing. Now more than ever, it’s critical to change this perception and showcase the exciting, rewarding careers available in the manufacturing sector, especially to the younger generation. For Jared and the rest of the team at Davis, this move represents more than just a physical relocation; it’s about embracing the future of education and strengthening the connection between the university and the vibrant Toledo community. The Toledo Region has long been a hub of innovation, resilience, and entrepreneurship. This year, two local businesses--Balance Grille and Toledo Metal Spinning—are being recognized nationally for their outstanding contributions to both the local and national business landscapes. Both companies were recently named to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce CO—100 List, an esteemed compilation of the top 100 small businesses in America.
