February brings a lot with it: Black History Month, when here at the Toledo Chamber we celebrate our region’s many Black-owned and -led businesses; Groundhog Day, when we get our first hopes of a warm and sunny spring; and new and exciting events hosted by us and our members. February is certainly a month to celebrate, but before we dive in to the upcoming events for February and beyond, let’s first welcome our newest members who joined the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce in January 2022.
The Ohio Export Internship Program gives businesses the help they need to expand sales to new markets.
The Ohio Export Internship Program matches businesses interested in growing exports with highly motivated college students who have taken export-focused coursework. The Ohio Department of Development offers participating small to medium-sized businesses a 50 percent reimbursement for the wages of the intern. Happy New Year, northwest Ohio! As difficult as it is to believe that we've begun a new year, we're thrilled to take on a new month with you, our members. As we delve further into the winter months, we have an exciting lineup of events for the start of 2022 to get you prepared for a modern economy and workforce. But before we talk about what we're looking forward to in the coming weeks and months, we should first reflect on our new members who joined the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce business community in December 2021. Council could vote on the proposal at its December 21 meeting.

The Mayor first announced and publicly shared the details of his budget plan about two weeks ago which is available at www.toledo.oh.gov/2022budget.
Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce Reaccredited with 5 Stars by U.S. Chamber of Commerce11/23/2021 Recently, the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce was once again Reaccredited with 5 Stars by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. This reaccreditation process, which the Toledo Chamber completes every five years, defines excellence in chamber planning and recognizes chambers for outstanding contributions toward positive change in their communities. We are so proud to once again be awarded the highest recognition possible by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and look forward to continue serving our business community in northwest Ohio.
Registration is now open for the 21st edition of the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce’s public service leadership program which begins in January. The Institute for Leadership & Advocacy is designed to build and strengthen our region’s leaders to help them serve their communities and work with public officials. The program is the longest-running of its kind in the state and has to date graduated more than 400 leaders in our region.
