The Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce is pleased that Governor DeWine signed the state transportation bill that includes a requirement for the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Ohio Turnpike & Infrastructure Commission to collaborate on the development of a plan to connect US23 and I-71. This connection would facilitate a free-flow highway connection between Toledo and Columbus of the likes that the Chamber and dozens of business and economic development from across Ohio has called for. |
This would not have been possible without the legislators from northwest Ohio – Republican and Democrat, urban and rural. They carried the effort in the legislature and we are extremely appreciative. We will continue to work with them as the planning continues.
The Chamber has led the business coalition to communicate the need for a safer, more predictable connection between northwest and central Ohio that contributes to economic growth and opportunity.
