| As leaders in the workplace, employers have a unique opportunity to empower their employees, not just professionally, but civically. According to the 2025 Edelman Trust Barometer Global Report, businesses remain the most trusted institutions, above government and media. This gives businesses the ability to become trusted sources of information for their employees and communities, regarding civic participation and topics well beyond that. National Employee Voter Registration Week (EVRW), kicking off on Monday, September 15, 2025, is an opportunity to begin engaging with your employees around civic engagement and become a trusted source of information for your teams. |
Supporting voter participation isn’t political, it is thoughtful leadership. When employers champion civic engagement, it builds an informed workforce that is empowered and ready to help shape the future.
Encouraging voter participation is an impactful way to demonstrate your company’s commitment to our region.
There are abundant resources available online at no cost to help companies participate in the initiative, including flyers, graphics, talking points, sample emails, suggestions on how to participate and other information.
There are many easy ways for companies to participate and promote civic engagement:
- Encourage employees to check their registration status
- Share voter registration information in internal company emails, newsletters, staff meetings or common areas
- Host a voter registration drive within your company
If you have any questions about engaging employees on civic participation throughout the year, please contact Brian Dicken at [email protected] or Gabrielle Huff at [email protected].
The Chamber engages civically through our political action committee, The Leadership Fund, which works to promote candidates in the Toledo region that understand the importance of creating a pro-business climate in northwest Ohio. Watch for more information coming soon about the role The Leadership Fund plays in advocating for our region.
