I was born and raised in Toledo. I left briefly to attend Ohio University for an undergraduate degree in Journalism and returned to Toledo because I fell in love with the city as an adult. Prior to joining the Chamber, I worked as the Editor of the Toledo City Paper and Mature Living Magazine, and was a freelance writer for Looper. Outside of work, I am a theater kid who choreographs local productions and show choirs in my free time.
What brought you to the Chamber?
I have always been passionate about young professional development. Growing up, I was lucky to have such crucial resources at my disposal, but I recognize that not everyone knows where to start when embarking on their path to success. I have been a part of EPIC Toledo and seen the impact on helping young professionals; I knew I wanted to contribute to the group in a meaningful way to not only help in the development of young professionals, but to show them what makes Toledo such an incredible city.
What do you hope to accomplish in your role at the Chamber?
I want to find more ways to include EPIC in community events and have our EPIC young leaders work within the community to strengthen the foundation we’ve already built.
What do you look forward to doing in your role?
I am looking forward to further embedding EPIC into the Toledo community and raising awareness for both EPIC and the Chamber at large. I want to find ways to shake up EPIC, through events, expansion of membership and new collaborations within the community. When our young leaders are nurtured and supported, the entire community flourishes.
What is your proudest career achievement?
My proudest work achievement is creating a 15-part video series on Women in Business for the Toledo City Paper, showcasing a day in the life of local business owners. In this series, one of the women I featured spoke only Spanish, so I created two videos for her: one in Spanish, where I altered the graphics and voiceover for it to be solely in Spanish, and another in English, where I recruited her daughter to do the English dubbing over her Spanish speaking. The project turned out great, and the impact on the family and our local Spanish-speaking community was inspiring.
