Wendy Gramza (pictured far right), president and CEO of the Chamber, said “it would be difficult to find anyone in Toledo who does not benefit in some way from the port authority’s operations.”
This is evidenced by the number of programs and operations supported by the levy:
- Northwest Ohio Bond Fund – lowering the cost of capital for businesses
- Diversified Contractors Accelerator Program (DCAP) – provides financial solutions to encourage increased participation by Northwest Ohio-based minority and women-owned contractors in publicly bid work and privately funded construction projects
- Northwest Ohio Revolving Loan Fund - providing capital to businesses to create or retain jobs
- Maritime shipping at the Port of Toledo - supporting nearly 8,000 jobs and more than $900M in economic activity
- Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport - a Top 100 airport for cargo volume in the U.S.
- Development of Farnsworth Business Park in Waterville
Levy revenue helps to provide local matches for state, federal, and other outside funds the port authority brings in to underwrite facilities upgrades. In recent year, more than $82M in capital projects have taken place at port facilities, city parking garages it manages, One Government Center, and the Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport.
Lucas County voters are encouraged to support the renewal and maintain the momentum in our community.
