​The holiday season is a time for giving, gathering, and gratitude. It's also one of the most critical periods of the year for small and local businesses. Shopping local during the holidays not only ensures unique, meaningful gifts for loved ones but also has a profound impact on the communities we call home.

This season, we are once again sharing some of our team’s favorite Chamber members for shopping, dining and just having an all-around good time at during the holidays! Keep reading to learn more and make sure to follow us on Facebook as we roll these out over the coming weeks.

I like Christmas shopping at Maumee Valley Chocolate & Candy because their huge selection of retro candy makes it easy to find fun gifts for everyone on my list.

It’s the kind of place where you walk in for one thing and walk out with a bag full of other treats like homemade chocolates, popcorn, crazy flavored sodas and more. 

Emily Mays: Membership Assistant

One of my favorite places to dine is Balance Pan-Asian Grille located in the heart of Downtown Toledo. 
 
I love their freshly made-to-order Sweet & Sour bowl. It's Vegan & Gluten-Friendly and the light sweet & savory blends of vegetables & proteins are delicious. 
 
I love to compliment the meal with an Iced Bubble Tea which comes in a variety of flavors to add to this healthy fast-casual Asian-inspired dining experience. 

Riley Runnells: EPIC Toledo Program Manager

I love Urban Pine Winery because it's the perfect date spot.

My girlfriend and I love to grab their wine flights and desserts.

We also love the attention to detail, like how owner Jen McAlear is a woodworker who makes pieces like tables and chairs for the winery! The food is delicious (with an ever-changing menu so you never get bored), and the wine is superb.

Whether you need help with holiday entertaining or just need a little treat, Jera's Heavenly Sweet has you covered. 

Copper Moon Studios not only hosted our December Grounds for Discussion networking coffee, but helped me check a gift off my list! A little something hand-made right here is heading down to my dad in Texas.

The Huntington Center is a great venue for taking in a concert, or cheering on the Walleye. But it is never more magical than when Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) is in town! Our local businesses offer countless ways to share time and create memories.

I also love seeing downtown Toledo all lit up in its holiday finery (although not necessarily when it's dark already at 5pm!)
