As the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce grows, new faces emerge. On Monday, Member Relationship Manager Melissa Tackett joined the Chamber to help grow membership, build relationships and strengthen the region’s business community. Tackett is from the Ann Arbor area, and moved to Perrysburg just a few short months ago. Before moving to the Chamber, Tackett had spent nearly her entire career in banking. However, the transition from the banking industry to working with the business community in the Toledo Region will be natural, Tackett says. |
Tackett joins the Membership & Communications team, where she will work to grow membership and support our members through the various resources the Chamber offers.
“I’ve always been in a client service role, so I like the opportunity that it brings,” Tackett says. “The opportunity to invest even more in the community and the people in the whole Toledo area, not just downtown, but our whole footprint, is great.”
Though Tackett is a relatively new resident of northwest Ohio, she’s already immersed herself in the community and has gotten involved. She enjoys exploring downtown and taking advantage of all the entertainment the city has to offer.
“Friends and family, we go to a ton of events and parties down here. It’s just fun. I’m super excited to be down here and just see what happens,” Tackett says. “I just think the spirit of Toledo is good, and it’s really on the uphill climb to be great again.”
Through her position at the Chamber, Tackett will be on the front lines to helping do just that: help Toledo grow and be great. It’s part of the reason she was attracted to the Member Relationship Manager position as well as the Chamber as a whole.
“I’m really excited to make a difference,” Tackett says. “I live here, so I think if you live here, investing here is important. I’m just excited about investing in the growth of Toledo as a whole environment, since we live here and use all the resources ourselves and participate in a lot of the community events.”
