Board and staff members of the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce were in on-hand to attend the bun signing. “I am so thrilled to become part of this Tony Packo’s tradition,” said Gramza.
A Proud Tradition of Bun Signings at Tony Packo's
Tony Packo's has been a Toledo institution since 1932, famous not only for its Hungarian inspired dishes but also for its quirky and beloved tradition of bun signings. The tradition began in 1972 when Hollywood icon Burt Reynolds visited Tony Packo's and, as a fun gesture, signed a hot dog bun. What began as a playful moment has since evolved into a cherished tradition, with over 1,000 signed buns from celebrities, athletes, musicians, and public figures adorning the walls of Tony Packo's restaurants.
From presidents to actors, astronauts to musicians, Tony Packo’s bun-signing tradition has grown into a cultural marker of both local and national significance. Wendy Gramza’s bun will now join the ranks of these distinguished figures, celebrating her achievements and contributions to the business community.
"We are thrilled to have Wendy Gramza as part of our bun-signing legacy," said Lindsey Bond, Executive Director of Tony Packo's. "Her leadership in Toledo and her recent invitation to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Committee of 100 is a significant achievement, and we are proud to honor her in this unique and iconic way."
