State Capital Budget

The Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce is working to identify community and arts related projects in the region for the upcoming state fiscal year 2019-2020 capital bill. A recommendation will be provided to the Governor and the region’s legislative delegation describing projects that have an economic impact on the region for consideration in the bill.

The Chamber’s process is a collaborative effort between the region’s business leaders and elected officials. This effort has been proven to be successful in previous capital budgets toward securing funding for community related projects in the region.

Criteria

As you consider your project, there are a few criteria that you should be aware of. Questions you should consider include:
  • Can the project be eligible for bonding by the state of Ohio;
  • Does the project have a connection to a state agency;
  • Are the requested funds being used for construction and not operational expenses;
  • What is the economic development impact on the Toledo region; and
  • What kind of local support is present for the project, including public/private partnerships?

Process

To submit a project for consideration, please complete and return this questionnaire electronically by November 20, 2017. Completed questionnaires and/or questions should be directed to Brian Dicken, vice president of advocacy & public policy, at brian.dicken@toledochamber.com or 419-243-8191.

Groups submitting a project for consideration will be offered the opportunity to make a presentation before the Chamber’s White Paper Committee to further explain the proposal. Presentations are expected to be scheduled for early December.
