Second Chance Month is an effort to highlight attempts to provide opportunities to those individuals who have committed a crime and are wanting to re-enter into society. However, for some, this may be their first chance at an opportunity to change their life. The Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce has been involved in this work since 2017 when we launched REDI, or the Re-Entry Development Initiative. REDI was formed in response to employers’ need to find more employees in a tight labor market. Our region continues to see low rates of unemployment and employers across all industries tell us finding employees is one of their biggest challenges to growing their company. |
April is Second Chance Month: An Opportunity to Tap into Hidden Talent with Fair Chance Hiring4/9/2024 REDI is focused on working with employers to make them aware of the opportunities and resources available to them, and why second chance hiring might be right for their company. Hiring individuals with criminal backgrounds may not be right for every business, but it might be the right answer for some, including yours.

From welcoming the first signs of spring to celebrating International Women's Day and everything in between, March has been a month of growth, empowerment, and renewal. Let's carry the momentum of March into April, embracing new opportunities, fostering connections, and striving for progress in all aspects of our lives. Together, let's make the upcoming month one filled with positivity, productivity, and purpose - beginning with welcoming the following new members to the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce.
The Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize all of the following Chamber Member organizations for proving that they are the BEST in their respective industries.
The Ramp (https://tolramp.biz/) was born out of the City of Toledo’s Forward Cities initiative, which identified the need to create a barrier-free, democratized way for diverse business owners to connect with or coordinate resources, programs and education, support, and assistance for entrepreneurship.
Spring is right around the corner. You can feel it in the air. If you are looking to get your golf-swing in shape, or just get in shape in general, there are new TRCC members that can help you do that, right down to making sure you have the correct shoes. If winter was tough on your roof, or other parts of your home, we have new members that can help you get those in shape as well. We also have new members that can help your business shape anything from plastic or steel to a marketing plan and so much more. Check them all out below. The Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Trustees and Toledo Area Small Business Association (TASBA) Board of Directors recently voted to support the City of Toledo Income Tax Renewal that will appear on the March 19 primary election ballot for City of Toledo voters and the Mental Health & Recovery Services Board Levy that will appear on the March 19 primary election ballot for Lucas County voters.

This is because our region will be in the path of totality for the 2024 total solar eclipse. At the February Focus on Business Member Luncheon, presented by KeyBank, attendees had the opportunity to hear from our three keynote speakers on the economic and business impact this once in a lifetime event will have on our region. Our thanks goes out to Lance Woodworth, President & CEO of Destination Toledo (above, far right), Jordan Westgate, Operations Officer, Lucas County Emergency Management Agency (above, far left) and Lori Hauser, CEO of Imagination Station (above, second from left) for sharing their expertise with us. (Shown with Wendy Gramza, President and CEO, Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce, above, second from right). In case you missed it, here are a few of the things your business should take into consideration: It’s February, which means we celebrate Black History, an early spring this year (if those groundhogs are to be believed) and of course love is in the air for Valentine’s Day. We are also celebrating our new members who joined in January. And is it a coincidence that among them are a bridal boutique, a wedding chapel and a bakery? We think not!
So help us show some love to our newest members and learn more about them below: New Year, New members! Help us welcome the following businesses that joined the chamber in December. Click on the links to learn more about them.
