The Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce congratulates the 34 individuals who have completed their public service and leadership training as a part of the 2023 Institute for Leadership & Advocacy, presented by Huntington. The 2023 cohort is the largest cohort the program has ever seen. With the completion of the 22nd year, the Institute is the longest running program of its kind in the state of Ohio. The participants join an alumni network of more than 500. The graduates were honored for their accomplishments at a ceremony on April 3 at the Glass City Pavilion with a keynote address from State Senator Paula Hicks-Hudson.

The Ohio Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) program is designed to assist minority businesses in obtaining state government contracts for goods and services. The state of Ohio developed the program because it recognized the need to encourage, nurture, and support the growth of minority businesses to foster their development and increase the number of qualified competitors in the marketplace.
With the implementation of SB105, priority legislation for the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce, the process to become certified has become easier.
