Here in the Toledo Region, family businesses are a cornerstone of our community, and Designetics is one such business. Our celebration of Women's History Month continues with a Q&A with Sydney Spraw, president of Designetics! Read about what Women's History Month means to Sydney, what she loves most about her job and how she got to where she is now. Enjoy!

Happy March, Toledo! As spring approaches, we look forward to seeing the sun more and the weather to begin to get warmer, which means gathering and meeting outside once again! However, as we always do to begin the month, we are also excited to look back on our great new members who joined the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce community in February. Please join us in welcoming these new members to our community, and next time you find yourself nearby one of these excellent Toledo Region businesses, we invite you to step inside and introduce yourself. Enjoy!
Happy March! While we celebrate woman-owned businesses all year round, it's particularly important to do so in March, designated as Women's History Month. Throughout the month, we'll be sharing some Q&As with woman business owners and leaders across the Toledo Region. Hear directly from these leaders as they discuss what the month means to them, the benefits of being a business owner in the Toledo Region and more. We're kicking things off with Jennifer Kearns, owner and president of Battery Wholesale. Happy Women's History Month, and enjoy!
Happy Black History Month! Here in northwest Ohio, we are home to incredible businesses, business owners from a wealth of backgrounds and community members who each have a unique story to share. Please enjoy this Q&A with Keith B. Jordan Sr., owner of The Onyx Café. If you haven’t yet stopped in to this comfortable and intimate coffee shop at 27 Broadway St., we invite you to do so. While you’re there, try a delicious signature bled, cappuccino or locally made pastry. We can promise you’ll be greeted with a warm smile and something delicious.
February brings a lot with it: Black History Month, when here at the Toledo Chamber we celebrate our region’s many Black-owned and -led businesses; Groundhog Day, when we get our first hopes of a warm and sunny spring; and new and exciting events hosted by us and our members. February is certainly a month to celebrate, but before we dive in to the upcoming events for February and beyond, let’s first welcome our newest members who joined the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce in January 2022.
Happy New Year, northwest Ohio! As difficult as it is to believe that we've begun a new year, we're thrilled to take on a new month with you, our members. As we delve further into the winter months, we have an exciting lineup of events for the start of 2022 to get you prepared for a modern economy and workforce. But before we talk about what we're looking forward to in the coming weeks and months, we should first reflect on our new members who joined the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce business community in December 2021. Thank you for supporting the Chamber and, by extension, the economy and business climate of northwest Ohio!
There are plenty of moments we’re already looking fondly back on from October – and Halloween is just the start. Between helping to celebrate ribbon cuttings for four area businesses, Dana’s Advanced Manufacturing Training Center, Northwestern Mutual, Crunch Fitness and Next Day Access of Northwest Ohio, and putting on fabulous in-person events, October was a month to remember. In addition to our members who held ribbon cuttings, we’d of course like to celebrate our new members who joined us in October 2021 as well.
