On Feb. 6, the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Toledo Small Business Development Center held the first-ever Drivers Ed class. The series was designed specifically for young professionals entering C-suite and ownership-level positions in their businesses, and focuses on teaching them to not just sustain the business model of previous generations, but to grow. The series continues on March 5 at 8 a.m. with Accounting for Fuel Efficiency at the University of Toledo's Nitschke Technology Commercialization Complex.
Accounting for Fuel Efficiency will instruct attendees on how to manage their personal wealth, understand business valuation and aims to keep attendees one step ahead of financial matters to ensure nothing takes them by surprise. Without understanding the ins and outs of your business and personal finances, you cannot begin to grow your business nor your personal wealth.

On March 5, Drivers Ed attendees will hear from Kate Matz, CPA, CEPA, CVGA, CGMA, partner with William Vaughan Company; Owen Beck, CPA, senior tax manager for William Vaughan Company; and Andy Hudak, investment advisor representative for Transamerica Financial Advisors, as they drive the class toward financial success and personal and professional fulfillment.
Kate Matz, CPA, CEPA, CVGA, CGMA
Partner, William Vaughan Company
Kate Matz is an experienced partner with more than 15 years of experience under her belt. She loves working with her clients, but she particularly enjoys working with entrepreneurs who are growing their businesses – a perfect fit for the Drivers Ed series. Prior to joining William Vaughan Company, Matz was part of the 2018 merger between William Vaughan Company and Davenport Hanf & Company.

Owen Beck, CPA
Senior Tax Manager, William Vaughan Company
Owen Beck joined William Vaughan Company in 2018 after catching wind of the company’s positive office culture. He has been working with clients for more than 14 years, particularly in the areas of tax planning strategies and business consulting. Beck now leads the transportation and logistics segment of William Vaughan Company. He has experience helping his clients acquire other businesses and minimizing tax impact for his clients, enabling them to grow.

Andy Hudak
Investment Advisor Representative, Transamerica Financial Advisors, Inc.
Andy Hudak’s goals as an investment advisor representative are, above all, to help his clients find fulfillment. On March 5, Hudak will present Finding True Fulfillment, Wealth and Contribution Through Growing Your Business, and through it hopes to answer four question: Do you see your business as a true asset?; In what ways can you build maximum value into your business?; How can you connect your business success to your personal wealth?; and How can you maximize your personal wealth through your business? He will discuss the importance of leveraging your business growth for personal growth.
Registration for the 10-session Drivers Ed course closes soon. Join the class by clicking here and learn how you can grow in your personal and professional lives, and be a growth driver in your business. Each session will focus on a new facet of growing your company. The next class will take place April 2. Please check back to toledochamber.com for more information on Drivers Ed.
