The Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce together with the RGP Northwest Ohio, United Parcel Service (UPS) and the U.S. Commercial Service successfully launched the Export Success program last week. This year's Export Success class is comprised of 10 company representatives and 11 mentors. Each company participating is at a different stage in the exporting process. Some have been exporting for years, while others have only sold domestically. One of the participating companies is a service provider which dispels the myth that only companies that have a good can export.
| Our first session was our orientation session. At this session the group of companies along with our mentors learned about the benefits of Export Success as well as what to expect during the class. We heard from Chamber employee, Sabrina D’Onofrio, Export Assistance Network Director on her role at the Chamber as well as in Export Success. We also had presentations from Paul Zito, Vice President of International Development at RGP Northwest Ohio who spoke about his role at Export Success. Tom Bainbridge, Export Assistance Program Manager at the Development Services Agency spoke to the group about different programs that are available to exporting companies from the State of Ohio. Sue Whitney, Office Director at the U.S. Commercial Service informed the group about the Gold Key service and other programs that are available to exporting companies at the Federal level. We are excited to embark on this journey of exporting with these 6 companies! Our next session will be in October and we will be discussing the international sales process. Stay tuned! |    |
