Nonprofit Kicks Off Next Era of Service in New Location
Earlier today, Goodwill hosted an anniversary celebration and ribbon cutting at its new headquarters located in Uptown Toledo at 1120 Madison Avenue. Supporters including clients, long-standing community partners, members of the business community and staff joined in the festivities.
“Goodwill’s impact begins with the generosity of community members and business partners, so we were particularly excited to kick-off our anniversary celebration with them by our side,” said Goodwill Industries of Northwest Ohio President and CEO Amy Wachob. “Together, we create life-changing opportunities and, ultimately, a stronger community right here in the Toledo Region. While Goodwill has a new downtown location, we remain committed to our mission of changing lives through the power of work.”
“While we’ve been a part of Northwest Ohio communities for more than eight decades, we want people to understand that through job training, education and career services, Goodwill helps people find jobs and prepares them to build careers,” said Wachob. “This 85th anniversary year is an opportunity to explain to people: When you donate to or shop at Goodwill, you are a job creator! And, when you shop at Goodwill, your purchases help support job training and placement programs for individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment.
Beyond retail, additional industry that Goodwill is proud to provide custodial services, lawn care and corporate packaging. Every service is offered at competitive rates, with high levels of customer satisfaction and the added incentive of helping people get jobs! “At City of Toledo, Streets, Bridges and Harbors Division, we’ve used Goodwill’s janitorial services for a little over a year now and we’ve never been more pleased,” said Eddie M. “Our building is spotless! Everyone at Streets, Bridges and Harbors knows that we’re giving back to the community by supporting individuals with disabilities and other work-related barriers to employment. It’s really a win-win!”
