Over the years, Post-Election Conference has become a staple on Cap Square. Leaders, professionals, and experts in their fields greet and gather at the conference to explore elections, the outcomes of the political process, and policy choices facing Ohio and its communities.
The first regional conference will be held in Toledo, Friday, September 15 at the Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel. Impact Ohio made this decision because they know how important Toledo and NW Ohio are to policy making and politics at the state level. Hosted through a partnership with the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce, local business leaders and elected officials will moderate and sit on panels throughout the conference. A much anticipated panel moderated by Jerry Anderson, WTOL-Channel 11 is titled “A Conversation with Toledo’s Mayoral Candidates.” The two top vote getters in the primary on September 12th will be asked to sit on this panel. Additional topics include “Emerging Smart Cities: Opportunities for the Region”, “Political Insight: The State of the Parties in Lucas County”, and “Observations from the Fourth Estate in the Age of 'Fake News' .”
Impact Ohio contributes financially to Ohio YMCA Youth & Government lieu of giving gifts to speakers.
