It's the start of "event" season at the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce. June kicks-off Summer In The City presented by Owens Corning, a multi-week program designed to embrace young talent and showcase all that Toledo has to offer. In July, we'll be back at the Toledo Zoo's Malawi Event Center for our biggest annual event of the year, the Clambake presented by PNC. And things heat up in August with our Summer Legislative Reception presented by Charter Communications and Institute for Leadership & Advocacy All-Aboard Leadership Launch, presented by AT&T. So, it's all-hands-on-deck, quite literally at times, all summer long! And we're thrilled to have an additional pair of hands here to help us out. Meet Kyrin Grime, our Event & Digital Marketing Intern. Kyrin will be working in our Talent and Workforce department this summer assisting with the planning, promotion and implementation of our Summer in the City and EPIC Toledo events. Read on to learn more about Kyrin and make sure you say "hi" when you see her at our summer events! |
I was born and raised in Wauseon, Ohio. I went to Kent State University for two and a half years, then transferred to the University of Toledo to be closer to home. I am studying marketing, and I will be graduating in Spring 2024 with my bachelor’s degree.
What brought you to the Chamber?
One of my professors at the University of Toledo helps her students in finding opportunities to further our educations. I learned about the Event & Digital Marketing Internship position through her and found it was a perfect fit for me.
What do you hope to accomplish in your role at the Chamber?
I hope to make an impact in the Summer in the City program and to learn and grow in experience as I go through the summer.
What do you look forward to doing in your role?
I am looking forward to experiencing more of Toledo and meeting people of the community. I am also looking forward to the events of Summer in the City and learning from the team as I help with the program.
What is your proudest career achievement?
As my career is beginning and I am learning and gaining experience, earning this opportunity to learn from and intern for the Chamber is my proudest accomplishment.
And now to get a little more personal...
Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
I am very passionate about running. I love to be outside and go run, and the feeling of accomplishment after a long run.
What is your favorite book or movie?
My favorite book right now is Night Road by Kristin Hannah, but my favorite typically changes with every new book I read. Some of my favorite movies are The Hunger Games series and Now You See Me. I enjoy movies that make you think.
What is your favorite meal or food?
My favorite meal is when my dad grills for my family. He makes all kinds of food: chicken, steak, burgers, and we all enjoy his cooking while spending time outside together.
Tell us about some of your favorite hobbies or things you are passionate about.
I enjoy being outside more than anything. Running, reading, or even just laying out to tan are my favorite things to do when I have free time.
