Just thirty minutes outside of Toledo is a unique restaurant in Grand Rapids, Ohio. LaRoe’s of Grand Rapids, opened by Dave LaRoe, has been serving delicious cuisine in both a casual and formal atmosphere for forty years.
Dave is a graduate of the University of Toledo with a degree in business and food service. Also a graduate of Sylvania High School, Dave worked at Parmelees Par 4, which was the beginning of his journey as a restaurateur. Immediately after graduation from UT he began to lease space in Grand Rapids and ran The Village Ice Cream Shoppe. In 1977 he purchased Rapids Tavern, the future home of LaRoe’s restaurant. Restoration began in 1981 and just last year the restaurant receive the Historical Preservation Award. In 2009, Dave expanded the restaurant and added the Riverside Patio. This holiday season, enjoy Holiday Dinner Theatre Seating for six nights with The Villagers of Friar Tucks at LaRoe’s. The theatre is available through reservations only by calling 419-832-3082. The buffet opens at 6 pm and is only open to 120 customers each night. There are still seats remaining for December 23, 2017.
