Toledo City Council will review two ordinances at its session at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5 that would transfer both ownership and management of the Skyway Marina to Metroparks Toledo. Skyway Marina is located at 1701 Front Street within the Glass City Metropark across from downtown along the Maumee River.
The arrangement involves the city granting Metroparks a two-year option to purchase the Marina for $1.00 and authorizing an agreement for Metroparks to operate the Marina for a yet-to-be-determined period of time. Revenue received under the Dockmaster Services Agreement would be deposited into a city fund designated for the Marina development.
The agreement is a noteworthy public-public partnership that takes advantage of Metroparks’ focus on enhancing recreational assets along the Maumee River.
