BrightView was formed in 2015 in Cincinnati by Dr. Shawn Ryan, MD, MBA, ABEM, ABAM. After working in emergency medicine for many years, he became acutely aware of the opioid epidemic in the greater Cincinnati area and decided it was time to make a change. He then started BrightView along with two other colleagues and BrightView has since successfully opened locations all across Ohio, including three more centers in Cincinnati and one each in Chillicothe, Columbus, Dayton, Canton, Springfield and Akron. BrightView continues to grow, with two more centers opening by the end of 2019 in Wilmington and Warren, Ohio. Today, BrightView has 10 employees at the Maumee center and more than 375 employees statewide. BrightView opened its Toledo Region location at 1655 Holland Rd., Ste. F, in Maumee on April 8, 2019.
