Objective: To bridge the gap in transportation for parents with children with special needs.
Little Tots Transport is a small transportation company that is looking to provide services for families who are really in need. Most times, parents are unable to get the necessary resources to cover these types of services so Little Tots Transport wants to be that service when there are no other options. The company was started when the owner and CEO (Debra Wilkins) was having trouble securing transportation for her son who has a disability. There were a few barriers which kept him from qualifying for services for autism scholarships or services with the Board of DD. The costs for private pay were more than she could cover so she decided to offer a solution to ease the pressure from parents in a similar situation.

Deb moved to Toledo to attend the University of Toledo in the late 80’s. She has cared for children in different capacities for over 20 years from child care in her teens, a single parent in her twenties, to a foster and adoptive parent (to 4 children now ages 4-11), to now running her own transportation business. She is diligently working with different agencies in the Toledo and surrounding areas to offer services. She would love to collaborate with college students who are interested in this field to work or volunteer to assist our children while offering experience to build their careers. She would like to work with and reach as many families as possible to make sure the need is being met. Her passion spreads far and wide. She is working toward a Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Administration at the University of Phoenix.
Transportation services range from trips to and from school, daycare, appointments, summer camps and employment. Anyone is eligible to ride including adults. There are some requirements but all are welcome to inquire. Little Tots Transport accepts funding from a variety of sources and their goal is to ease at least one area of pressure to parents in our community.
