The Schedel Arboretum & Gardens is located 25 minutes from Toledo in Elmore, Ohio just off Exit 81 of the Ohio Turnpike. Established in 1991, the SA&G is a sanctuary for the appreciation and study of nature and the arts. Over 17 acres of unusual plant species, annual flowering plants, themed gardens, water features and much more combine to provide a unique way to experience nature.
The SA&G is a nonprofit organization established by Joseph and Marie Schedel. The Schedel’s intended for their life’s work to continue as a sanctuary for all so that nature would remain a significant part of our lives.
The perfect place for a quiet stroll through the serenity of the grounds, breathtaking outdoor vistas for wedding ceremonies and receptions, graduation and engagement photos or just a pause to reset from today’s busy lifestyles awaits visitors.
Other features include the Brown Welcome and Conference Center which is the perfect venue for business retreats, small weddings and other functions provides an unparalleled view to the lower level gardens. A world class bonsai display, grove of dawn redwood trees, rose garden, vegetable garden, tropical garden, a 1800’s manor house and two lakes with a thirty foot waterfall combine for an experience sure to enrich lives.
