Owners:
Greg & Heather Shepherd, Bowling Green, OH
Greg and Jenny Neville, Bowling Green, KY
Established: 2006
Stadium Salsa is a line of delicious, all-natural salsas and tortilla chips made right here in the Toledo Region. Known as the “Official Salsa of the Toledo Mud Hens, “Official Salsa to the Toledo Walleye, “Preferred Salsa to Western Kentucky Athletics”, and the “Official Salsa to the Bowling Green Hot Rods”, Stadium Salsa, LLC was founded during local tailgates. Says Greg Shepherd, “We are a sports family that enjoys tailgating, family get-togethers, etc.…and our ‘go-to’ was also making fresh salsa. We were asked by a small local store if we could make enough for them to sell. Not knowing what we didn’t know, we said, ‘sure.’ Hence, the ‘hobby-gone-wild’ story begins.”

The family quickly became involved with the Agricultural Incubator, specifically the Northwest Ohio Cooperative Kitchen (NOCK), and the Center Innovative Food Technology (CIFT) in order to educate themselves in commercial food production. Not long after, they were named the “Official Salsa of the Toledo Mud Hens” and on the shelves of several local stores including The Andersons, Monnette’s Market, and Walt Churchill’s, to name a few.

After working with a few different food distributors, they partnered with one that gave them the most exposure at that time, covering 6 states and 600+ store locations including the likes of Kroger, Walmart, Whole Foods and Roundy’s. Next season they plan on partnering with the Nashville Sounds and the Louisville Bats baseball teams.

Local and All-Natural

Both Gregs have a background in the medical field, so it is incredibly important to the company to keep their snacks natural, fresh and healthy. All products are made in small batches to ensure quality and freshness. They keep things local, using regionally-grown Roma tomatoes in the salsa and regionally-grown corn for their tortilla chips. Their commitment to sourcing local and healthy ingredients makes their product the perfect naturally gluten-free snack for your next tailgate.
Community Impact

Stadium Salsa, LLC also puts a huge emphasis community partnerships, by giving back through donations and personal volunteering. The family spent Thanksgiving Day at Christ the King, serving food to those who wished to join CTK for a hot meal and they have participated in “NO KID HUNGRY” for the past 5 years, through Taste of the Nation. Stadium Salsa has also participated for many years as a sponsor for the American Heart Association’s “Heart Walk”, where Greg Shepherd had served as a member on the Executive Committee.

Shepherd has a passion for coaching youth basketball and baseball teams, and the company has helped provide travel gear to local high school basketball and cheerleading teams. Giving back to the community through fundraising is something that they offer as well. Instead of selling unhealthy food items, organizations call sell all-natural chips and salsa while earning back 50% of all sales for their efforts. Funds, food sales and goals are all achieved within our Region!
Additional Community Partnerships:
  • Ronald McDonald House
  • 100.7 FM Secret Santa Delivery
  • Stadium Salsa Bus: Deliver presents to unknowing recipients
  • Urban for Autism event
  • Gift Basket Donations
