In October 1954, 20 employees of the Superior Coach Corporation signed a charter creating the Superior Coach Employees Federal Credit Union in Lima, Ohio. In 1981, Superior Coach closed causing Superior to obtain a community charter. Since then, Superior has grown exponentially with almost 100,000 members and nearing $1 billion in assets! Superior branches now stretch across I-75, with 20 total branches from Cincinnati to Toledo.
Date of Establishment in the Toledo Region:
The Maumee branch opened on August 30, 2018 after a merger with Co-Op Toledo Credit Union. The Perrysburg & Sylvania branches officially opened on February 1, 2019 after a merger with Great Lakes Credit Union.
Employees:
Superior has a total of 215 employees throughout Western Ohio; 14 of these employees work in our Toledo region.

Superior supports United Way in every region we’re in. We’re passionate about Wheels to Work and also have our own not-for-profit private foundation: the Superior Foundation. The Superior Foundation supports our community through a college scholarship program, our First-Time Homebuyer Grant, SuperiorFirst, and various grants and donations.
