We are excited to welcome the Toledo Jazz Orchestra to the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce. In their seventh season since getting their own 501(c)(3), the TJO is growing!
Led by artistic director, Ron Kischuk, the TJO has several events left in its 2016-2017 season, including Sixty Years of West Side Story at the Valentine Theater on April 22. Typically these “big band” concerts employ twenty or more local musicians and guest artists.
Due to several grants that the TJO has worked hard to acquire, the orchestra has added a youth education program that sends jazz ensembles into local schools to talk about the history of jazz. They also feature small ensembles at the Black&White Transportation Bistro Series, held at Registry Bistro on Thursdays in downtown Toledo.
