A Brief Company History
Transnet's humble beginning was in 1986 with Mike Blakely and Phillip Malone and just four employees total. Now, 30 years later, Transnet has grown to become a nationally recognized and respected logistics leader. Transnet offers over 30 years of domestic logistics experience and cutting edge technology to assist its clients with all shipping needs.
Transnet is what one would call a "little family." While not all 18 of Trasnnet's employees belong to the family business, each team member treats one another like a family one. The culture is based upon good ethics and commitment to hard work.

Transnet moves big trucks from a very small office. The company is behind the scenes in places that most might not realize, yet is what makes trucks' shipping loads possible.
What motivates you to jump out of bed in the morning?
Making clients happy, solving problems and making lifetime connections for the business.
The market has been decreasing. Transnet is looking for new customers that want to establish lifelong relationships.
Where in the Toledo Region do you like to spend your time outside of business hours?
Most of Transnet's team members are from Maumee, Perrysburg and Sylvania suburbs. They are family men who enjoy spending time with their families every afternoon and, from time to team, with each other.
Advice for new business owners?
Get customers that want to be partners for a life time. Build other small businesses within the area.
Create employment for the youth, for those who are willing to work hard and make a change in society.
What trends/insights are you finding in your field/market?
It seems like the freight around this area has been slowing down due to weather circumstances. At the same time, the market is experiencing an overflow of trucks, making prices cheaper or more expensive depending on the area. Transnet offers the best and most accurate pricing around.
What advice do you have to give to emerging talent in your field?
Join the Transnet network; work with the ones who have been doing it for a while. Here at Transnet, we understand that new companies start not knowing the ups and downs, but we are willing to help those that have talent. If there is talent, don’t forget about hard work.
The Toledo Transportation Club. We donate every year to the club and contribute to the scholarship fund. We like to support local organizations. The Toledo Transportation Club is comprised of representatives from the trucking industry, railroads, airlines, traffic managers and other people involved with distribution of transportation. Our goal is to promote education and fellowship in the transportation and distribution industries.
