The Chamber worked with legislators on both of these bills due to the importance to our region. While we may not have large active duty military bases, we are home to several thousand members of the guard and reserve in the region… and some of those members have relocated here from out of state. These service members are our neighbors, friends, and co-workers. Efforts like SB7 and HB16 make it easier for them to relocate to the region with their families. Additionally, these are important factors when decisions are made at the federal level on infrastructure investments and assigning new programs. Recent investments in our region will make the units stronger, resilient, and more likely to continue to be here long into the future.
The Chamber will continue to engage in efforts to support our region’s military members. A list of resources available in region to assist veterans, service members, and their families can be found here.
