For those already behind on payment of their property taxes, the Treasurer’s office offers installment payment plans. The office has always offered payment plans to protect from penalties and interest for delinquent taxes on primary residences. However, in recognition of the pandemic’s continued impact, Treasurer Webb has broadened this policy to other property types including commercial properties through 2020. Standard terms include a 20 percent down payment with installments over 24 months, but a larger down payment can be made to reduce the monthly installment amounts.
Treasurer Webb encourages those facing the possibility of late payment on Lucas County second-half property taxes to discuss their options with her office by contacting Mark Austin at 419-213-4602 or [email protected] to discuss their options.
Also, with the approaching July 10 payment deadline in Wood County for second-half property taxes, Wood County Treasurer Jane Spoerl has also expressed to the Chamber her willingness to use the tools within her office to assist property owners facing late payment amid the pandemic. Wood County property owners needing assistance are encouraged to contact Treasurer Spoerl directly at 419-354-9130 or [email protected].
