The City of Toledo has scheduled two virtual public meetings to allow for feedback as part of its comprehensive disparity study to advise improvements with regard to City contract opportunities for disadvantaged businesses. The sessions will allow participants to make recommendations and share experiences with doing business, or attempting to do business, with the City. Those interested in helping to inform the study can register for either of the two sessions:
The Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce is serving along with other stakeholders on the workgroup advising aspects of the study, and recently launched the Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Directory to help promote these businesses within our community. The Chamber also worked to support an ordinance adopted last month by Toledo City Council that established a Veteran-Friendly Business Enterprise certification program to increase City contract opportunities for veteran businesses.
Participation of businesses in the comprehensive disparity study will support the accuracy of its findings, which will result in policy recommendations to City officials. Those not able to participate in one of the public meetings but still wanting to share their comments or questions can do so by emailing to [email protected].
