You’ve likely seen their truck around town, or their colorful ads at Fifth Third Field and the Huntington Center. Known throughout the region as the “Official Printing Company of the Toledo Mud Hens and Walleye”, Metzgers is a legacy in Toledo. What was started as “Type House” by Norb Metzger in 1976, a small business in Toledo has now grown to a multi-generational, award winning, full service printing company.

Currently led by second generation, Tom Metzger, the company is located on Arco Drive in South Toledo. Recently Tom has received several awards from the printing industry, including a spot in the Printing Industry Hall of Fame. What landed him this coveted spot? The ability to embrace and implement change.

Over the course of 40 years, Metzgers has consistently embraced new technologies and offered new services to provide world class solutions to their customers. They have also been recognized time and again by Printing Impressions as one of the Top 400 Printing Companies in the United States and Canada.

Seven years ago, the company continued the family legacy when Tony Metzger, Tom’s son, joined the company. He is now working closely with Tom in operations management. Tony is also actively involved in EPIC Toledo, the young professional program of the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce.

“We have a great balance of people here at Metzgers; 18 have been here 20 years or more, but we also have a lot of young energy and people anxious for an excellent career in Toledo.” – Tom Metzger

In 2013, Metzgers won the Better Business Bureau’s Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. This award is a reflection of the way that Metzgers does business, dating back to company founder, Norb Metzger. Innovation and integrity are core values of the management team at Metzgers, and they hold their entire team to the highest ethical standards.

The company is a proud supporter of green energy and initiatives, which they put into practice at their 125,000 square foot office, which includes a 125 kW rooftop solar panel installed in 2010 with over 540 panels.

Founded in Toledo, the company is integral in the community, participating and sponsoring many local events and charities. They support and sponsor the Marathon Classic, along with many other charities, nonprofits, and events throughout the area. They also support and participate in the local business community by participating in Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce events and initiatives, an organization they have been a part of for more than 30 years.
