I have been a member of the Chamber throughout the majority of my career. I’ve lost count of how many years! My membership has been as both a corporate member representing the companies I work for, and an independent member as a real estate agent. Originally I joined because “that’s what businesses do” and for networking opportunities. What I found was so much more. Networking, education, a voice in the community, business assistance, business development tools, and some pretty awesome people that are focused on the success of the Toledo region.
What is the best kept secret you discovered about the chamber when you joined?
The influence and outreach of Advocacy and Public Policy department. I learned they not only focus on legislative issues affecting the business community, but issues that affect the community at large. Their goal is on making Toledo attractive to new businesses, growing existing businesses, creating job growth, and strengthening a positive perception of the Toledo region. They also provide education and training for emerging leaders, resources to veterans, and more.
Which chamber event do you most enjoy attending and why?
Focus on Business lunches are fantastic events. Having the opportunity to hear from diverse speakers and learning about a variety of programs and issues facing the Toledo area is extremely worthwhile. Plus the networking is great and the lunches at the Glass pavilion are awesome!
