The Chamber advocates for policies that promote and support federal and military installations in the region. Among the policies that the Chamber has been engaged on this year include reciprocity for professional licenses held by service members and their family members when relocating to Ohio. This issue has been identified as a priority by the Department of Defense and can assist employers in attracting the workforce they need to be successful.
We also assist in communicating the economic and national security interests of the military installations. Did you know that the military units in the region have an economic impact of nearly $250M annually? Or that more than 15,000 people are employed by veteran-owned businesses totaling $415M in annual payroll and generating more than $1.8B in receipts?
The service members in our region provide a critical national defense and also serve as a significant economic driver.
