At the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce (TRCC), we believe that legislative advocacy is vital to fostering a pro-business environment that encourages job creation in the Toledo Region. At last Friday’s Summer Legislative Reception, presented by Charter Communications, over 120 attendees enjoyed a beautiful morning at the National Museum of the Great Lakes getting face-to-face time to ask questions of our elected officials and learn more about the issues that might affect their businesses. This event helps strengthen the relationships between our private and public leaders with the goal of promoting economic growth and prosperity throughout our region.
Lisa Sobecki, Lucas County Commissioner (left) and Paula Hicks-Hudson, Ohio Senator, District 11 (right) More than a dozen public officials from federal, state and local offices and multiple jurisdictions attended the event where they had the opportunity to hear from our region’s small businesses, major employers, educational institutions, non-profits, community organizations and more. “It is a unique networking opportunity which focuses 100% of the event on small group conversations without requiring participants to sit through long prepared speeches,” said Brian Young, Director of Government Affairs for Charter Communications, presenting sponsor of the event. “Chamber members gain answers while the local officials find out what the thoughts and concerns are from the local business community.”
