Happy New Year, Toledo! We've closed the books on 2020 and we are excited to get started on everything to come in 2021. However, we wouldn't be sending December off right without recognizing our incredible new members who joined the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce in December 2020. Let's take a look back at what the month brought for the business community of northwest Ohio.

This December, we've focused primarily on three of our most exciting upcoming programs: The Institute for Leadership and Advocacy, Export Success and the Emerging Leader Program Powered by Vistage. Though very different in nature, these three programs are similar in one regard: they all fall in line with the Toledo Chamber's mission to connect your businesses and employees with resources that encourage growth. Let's learn more.
The Institute for Leadership & Advocacy
The Institute is our Advocacy & Public Policy department's program that teaches leaders how to successfully interact and do business with our region's elected officials and policy makers. Without a strong working relationship with your elected officials, your business could suffer. It's important that you advocate for your own business by maintaining your relationship with those elected officials, and that they know your concerns as a business professional. In 2021, the Institute students will learn about getting involved with public sector boards and commissions, ethics in public service, diversity and inclusion, and many more topics.
Export Success
Export Success is hosted by the Toledo Small Business Development Center's Export Assistance Network Director, Sabrina D'Onofrio, CGBP, CBA, in partnership with the Regional Growth Partnership. The Export Success class will teach new-to-export businesses how they can grow their business abroad through exporting. By expanding abroad, you can protect your business from local market instability and expand to markets you weren't aware of before. And this class isn't just for businesses that create widgets – businesses that offer services can benefit from Export Success, too. And this year, Export Success will be 100% virtual, and that means businesses from all over the state of Ohio can take advantage of this incredible year-long class!
Emerging Leader Program Powered by Vistage
The Emerging Leader Program Powered by Vistage takes young professionals on a two-year journey toward becoming business leaders. This class, offered through the EPIC Toledo young professionals organization, doesn't just squeeze a multitude of information into a whirlwind week. It focuses on one topic at a time, every other month, to encourage mastery. Perhaps the greatest strength of the Emerging Leader Program for your business is its focus on helping young professionals rise through the ranks with you, rather than to seek opportunities outside your organization. You can encourage your rising stars to become the next generation of senior leadership through the Emerging Leader Program Powered by Vistage!
