Emerging Leader Program Powered by Vistage 2021
Jan. 12-Nov. 9, 2021
The EPIC Toledo Emerging Leader Program Powered by Vistage prepares your rising stars to become your next generation of senior leadership. This important series from the Toledo Chamber and EPIC Toledo, our young professionals organization, guides participants as they develop core leadership competencies and confidence, which will empower them to deliver on company goals. By encouraging the young professionals in your organization to be part of the Emerging Leader Program, you are encouraging the growth, success and development of your company and showing your young professionals that you truly care about their professional development. This group meets once every other month to encourage mastery of each subject and long-term personal growth.
Though we are still primarily meeting virtually, we still love to see our members' faces over webcam and watch as their businesses grow and succeed here in northwest Ohio. Check out the fabulous events we brought to members and community members in October:
Talent Resource Week
Oct. 5-8
What is typically the Toledo Chamber's Talent Summit has become a virtual Talent Resource Week! This year, we got talented while staying healthy and socially distanced by meeting through Zoom throughout the week. Attendees learned about REDI - Re-Entry Development Initiative, the Impact Coalition's Employer Resource Networks, how to hire employees with addictions and set them up for success, micro-internships, and more. Attendees also gained access to a variety of Special Release Talent and Workforce Resources, including a guide to hiring interns, a toolkit on selling Toledo to potential new employees, a guide to hiring immigrants and more.
Morning Access: Education and Workforce Development presented by AT&T
Oct. 9
Last year, a Brookings study identified Toledo as a metro area where automation’s potential is highest and impact could be greatest. During our most recent Morning Access event, we explored what that really means for the future of our region and workforce, and how we should be preparing our employers, current employees and future employees who are still in school. We welcomed Roberto Pinheiro, a senior research economist for Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, to discuss the research he's done to predict what we should know about the future of automation.
Clambake 2020 presented by PNC
Oct. 16-17
That's right, Clambake went VIRTUAL! This year, we "kept clam and carried out" by partnering with Walt Churchill's Market. Clambakers registered for their meals, picked them up from the Perrysburg or Maumee location of Walt Churchill's, and baked their own clambake meal in their own home. Clams, shrimp, lemon bars, beer from earnest brew works and more made for a delicious and pandemic-friendly event. But that's not all – for those who still wanted to support the Chamber and their community but either weren't available Oct. 16-17 or simply weren't fans of seafood, we partnered with Connecting Kids to Meals and helped to donate hot, healthy meals to children in our community.
