"Bill is laying down a track for the staff to follow as he transitions to retirement. He never has given up on any of his staff members in the time I’ve been here. He does not 'manage' us per say, but he 'leads' us to be better employees, counselors, and most importantly good people in general." - Sabrina D'Onofrio, Toledo SBDC
By: Emily Dammeyer, Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce The Toledo Small Business Development Center (SBDC) was recognized as the Top Jobs Creator in the Ohio SBDC Statewide Network for the fiscal year 2016. The Statewide network consists of 28 centers, and the Toledo SBDC created nearly 500 jobs. The award is given based on metrics provided by clients of the SBDC. Clients must validate that the jobs were created in the community and attribute growth of their company to the help they received from the SBDC. Additionally, Bill Wersell, Director of the Toledo SBDC received the 2016 Ohio SBDC Peer Recognition Award for Mentoring. He was nominated by his staff and chosen by a panel of SBDC Directors and Advisers.
