August is now behind us, and though our warm temperatures and beautiful sunny skies don't show it, fall is nearing in the Toledo Region. The Toledo Chamber has plenty to look back on and celebrate during the start of September, and we've got even more to look forward to as the year continues on. On Sept. 15, we'll be joined by Dr. Patrice McClellan, affectionately known as Dr. P, as she presents Allies in Action: Building a Community, Empowering Employees & Developing an Action Plan for DEI. Dr. P, the president and lead strategist of The Ronald Group, is an expert in coaching and has more than 20 years of experience under her belt in helping organizations to thrive. During this virtual FOCUS|2021 event, Dr. P will teach attendees how they can begin to build out their diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. This event isn't built just for businesses getting started or interested in starting a DEI plan, it's for businesses and leaders at any and every step of their DEI journey. Plus, you'll also receive economic updates from the Regional Growth Partnership, the Toledo Chamber and the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority.

Toledo is home to the first Impact Ohio Conference of 2021! Impact Ohio is a conference that aims to educate and inform attendees on elections, the political process and the policy choices that Ohioans will face at the local and state level. This is an excellent event for all business leaders, whether you are active and engaged with politics or are interested in learning how to become more educated and involved in our legislative process. This valuable forum also offers opportunities to network with political and community leaders as well as with like-minded business professionals. The day before the Sept. 17 conference, the Toledo Chamber is hosting the Impact Ohio Welcome Reception presented by Buckeye Broadband. Join us at the Glass City Metropark pavilion and enjoy a night of networking with the conference presenters and attendees as well as a beautiful view of our downtown skyline.
